Hello Bezlo has had a super exciting journey, from founder Clodagh’s very first idea for the brand to now as we are nearing the capsule collection release.

Clodagh made a company instagram account in 2015 and soon connected with like minded parents all across the world who validated her idea that girls could benefit from a STEM inspired clothing line. Clodagh was then selected to join a London based tech accelerator, Oxygen Accelerator, which served as an amazing crash course, teaching her the importance of product market fit and how to develop a lean business model. This really pushed Hello Bezlo towards its goals! Clodagh then became very involved in the London and Dublin startup community and was encouraged to launch a Kickstarter campaign before Christmas 2015, which raised much needed funds to further the brand.

The start of 2016 was very exciting, with Clodagh winning the Irish NASA hackathon and also winning first place at Startup Weekend. Clodagh was selected for a Google sponsored pre-accelerator course, StartupNext, which perfected Hello Bezlo’s pitch for investors and provided helpful feedback. All this time the Hello Bezlo network was growing, with the brand’s passionate ethos attracting a board of experienced advisors, including experts in the fashion, ecommerce and tech industry.

Hello Bezlo recently secured its first round of investment from Angel investors who saw the huge potential to help grow the brand to become internationally recognised. We are now perfecting our first collection, which will be ethically manufactured.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far!

Startup Weekend

In November 2015 Clodagh entered Startup Weekend, a hackathon organised by Techstars. A hackathon is an event that brings together a group of people with different skill sets who feel passionately about solving a certain problem. You can come with an idea to pitch or simply attend for fun and meet like minded people.  She had an idea for a Hello Bezlo App!

Although Clodagh is not a computer engineer, designer or scientist, she is creative and loves brainstorming and collaborating with people to bring ideas to life. Present her idea to the panel in just 52 hours?! Challenge accepted and she came first place! Winning this hackathon opened up so many doors and she met amazing people who joined the Hello Bezlo Team.

Startup Next

We applied for a Pre-Accelerator course called StartupNext. A big application form, video pitch and Skype call later we made the cut! Out of 68 Irish startups we were among the final 8 that were selected to take part. It is an awesome opportunity for us to grow, be challenged and learn from the Techstars family. Taking place in Google, here we perfected our pitch, received one-to-one mentoring and feedback all to make us investor ready in 6 weeks. We finished the programme in April 2016 and presented our business to press, investors and other entrepreneurs!
